Erwin Schrott and the Rojotango Live ensemble will be performing music from Erwin’s ECHO Klassik award winning album, Rojotango (Sony Classical), at the Salzburger Festspiele on 28th July, and at Haydn Hall of Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt on 2nd August 2013.
The show in Eisenstadt, promoted by Autohaus Weintritt, will be a charity concert to raise funds for Licht ins Dunkel and for the Anna and Erwin Foundation – Anna Netrebko and Erwin Schrott for Kids.
The Foundation’s share of the proceeds will be given in aid of families affected by the recent floods in Lower Austria.
238.000 Euro − this much was raised via the generosity of PNP readers during the PNP Christmas special “A light in the advent”. The donation goes to “Anna and Erwin Foundation – Anna Netrebko and Erwin Schrott for Kids“.
With this donation, the Foundation will support the “Turner Scientific and Research Institute for children’s orthopedics” in St. Petersburg, where children with physical disabilities can be effectively helped.
On Thursday 24th January 2013, Anna Netrebko accepted the symbolic donation cheque in her Viennese home from the hands of Ms. Angelika Diekmann, publisher of PNP, with a message for the generous readers: “With your donation you have helped so many children, and many more can be helped. This will give them the opportunity to be healthy and find their place in society.”
We would like to express our special thanks to the publisher, Angelika Diekmann and editor Sebastian Fleischmann for their encouraging support, as well as the many readers that have supported “A light in the advent” with their generous help.
